A Study of Mental Health and Wellness

Book Talks

Stephanie Y. Evans, PhD is Professor and Director of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at Georgia State University. She has traveled widely to give talks on race, gender, and #historical wellness, particularly around Black women's healing traditions, self-care, and inner peace practices. Professor Evans discusses memoirs as intellectual history, shares resources in classrooms and communities, and presents research about elders as messengers of health, which is particularly useful for survivors of sexual violence.
